Albert River Wines
Situated on the banks of Albert River in the picturesque Albert Valley, Albert River Wines is set high on a hill with panoramic views of Tambourine Mountain and the surrounding Gold Coast hinterland. Not only is this an award winning winery, but it is also home to historic Tamborine House, a fully restored colonial homestead.
Albert River Wines are available only through their Cellar Door or by mail order, so make the trip to this excellent winery to make sure your own cellar houses some of their lovely wines.
The Cellar Door and restaurant are open daily from 10am with live entertainment every Sunday.
Aussie Vineyards – Mt Tamborine
Aussie Vineyards Mt Tamborine is located on the site of Tamborine’s oldest vineyard just a 50 minute drive from your Burleigh Heads accommodation at Gemini Court. Set amongst sub-tropical rainforest, the fruit from the amazing deep orange soil yields high quality merlot and petit verdot grapes.
Try some of their award winning wines any from 10am – 4pm (except Christmas, Good Friday and from 1pm Anzac Day). You’ll be greeted by friendly, knowledgeable staff and served complimentary olive oil and cheese to taste.
Bring a picnic to accompany one of the many exquisite wines and kick back to the sound of local musicians from 12 – 3:30pm Saturday and Sunday (weather permitting).
Canungra Valley Vineyards
With a mission to ‘Celebrate the simple things in life’, the O’Reilly family, owners of this winery at the edge of the Gold Coast, are famous for their legendary hospitality. Located in peaceful Canungra Valley, the winery grows mainly chambourcin and semillon grapes.
You are invited to relax on the wide verandah of grand ‘Killowen’ homestead, originally built in 1858 and moved to its current valley home in 1989. Since harvesting their first crop in February 2000, the O’Reilly family’s wines have been recognised nationally and internationally.
Sit back and enjoy fine homestead dining, or perhaps you are ready for a romantic picnic under the silky oaks, or by the creek.
