Movie fanatics and adrenalin junkies love Movie World.  The Looney Tunes Live spectacular, 4D Shrek adventure and stunt show are family favourites.  For the thrill-seeking adults, Superman Escape goes from 0 – 100km in just 2 seconds!

If you love dolphins, polar bears, sharks and all our fishy friends, then your family will love a day at Sea World.  It’s also fun to catch the cable car or monorail.  Plus the Corkscrew and Jet Rescue rollercoasters get the adrenalin pumping.

Everyone loves a good water park and on the Gold Coast we’re lucky to have two!  Wet and Wild is a popular destination where you can pack a bbq or picnic lunch and hangout with friends for the day.  White Water World, attached to Dreamworld offers waterslides, a wave pool and the chance to catch a big wave in the Surfrider.

Dreamworld is the ultimate teenager thrill experience.  Plus, for animal lovers, you can’t go past those cute tigers.  Shows, rides, tigers and fun put this park as number one for adrenalin junkies, but also loved by families!

The Outback Spectacular is a truly fun experience.  The live show is an entertainment spectacular of horses and riders.  Plus you get to enjoy a three course Australian bbq served with drinks throughout the show.  A wonderful encounter you’ll talk about forever.

The weather has been so beautiful, so we decided that a trip to the beach was a must.  Gosh that was fun, and afterwards we hung out at the local play parks – there are so many of them!  The kids loved the different types of climbing frames and swings.  It was a great day for all of us.

The next day we decided on a trip to Wet and Wild.  The weather was so awesome that it seemed the best theme park for a combination of scary rides and swims in the wave pool.  My littlest just loved Buccaneer Bay, especially when the bucket filled all the way to the top and tipped over splashing the excited kids.

We also took a walk around the headland through Burleigh Heads National Park.  Couldn’t believe the views, but the most fun was had when we came across several turkeys just hanging out on the path!

Needless to say it’s been so much fun so we just thought we’d write this thank you to the lovely managers, Kris and Anna, who were so friendly and welcoming and made our stay as special as it was.  If you’re looking for Burleigh Heads accommodation, don’t stay anywhere else.  From the room to the amenities, Gemini Court Holiday Apartments are the best!!

Jarrod Wells has been teaching fitness for more than seven years.  After completing his Physical Science degree at the University of Tasmania, Jarrod taught for a few years at various schools before starting his own boot camp and personal training studio, Trim ‘n Terrific, at Gemini Court Burleigh Heads accommodation.

“I do a boot camp class and personal training where individuals come in and I do assessments on them and individual programs.

“My philosophy is that it’s all about health and well-being which leads into weight loss and muscle gain through functional exercise.  There is a big focus on nutrition and, being a former teacher, I try to educate as well.  Clients come and train with me for a certain period of time, then go away with a skill set, all the tools they need to stay fit and healthy for the rest of their lives.

“I’m lucky that I’ve got a really well set up space here and my focus is functional training and postural correction.  So, for example, if I’m working with an older person they might want to strengthen their core and back which we do through prescribed exercises.  I also work with athlete development.

Jarrod is a big fan of Burleigh after his family moved to the Gold Coast from Tasmania.

“I guess I just kind of liked Burleigh the most and was lucky to get access to this health studio at Gemini Court after Anna, the manager, trained with me at one of my boot camps.

“I’ve had a couple of families with a few kids come in who just want to stay active so we went and did some fun things in the park.  I’ve also had people on holiday who want to do a couple of sessions.  I always charge them my discounted rate if they are staying at Gemini Court accommodation in Burleigh Heads.”
